Start the Conversation

I grew up on a farm in rural South Dakota with a natural drive to help others and a deep awareness of the importance of inclusion and equity. Growing up with a family member in the disability community shaped my belief in a world where everyone deserves to feel accepted and supported. My path has always led me toward working with children, from early babysitting and volunteering experiences to roles in residential care facilities for children and teens and inpatient mental health settings. Along the way, I discovered my passion for helping teens, especially those navigating the challenges of being a teenager, tough life stories, and life transitions.

In 2016, I took a leap into the unknown and began my Master of Social Work at the University of Iowa. During my time there, I was introduced to the world of play therapy and found a home in the Adlerian Play Therapy approach. With the guidance of inspiring mentors and additional training, I began pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist™ and as an Adlerian Play Therapist. I graduated in 2018 and have been providing therapy for children and teens ever since. I’ve worked in community mental health, private group practice, and now For the Love of Play Therapy.

I know that reaching out for therapy can be a big step. I understand that people contact me when life is not going as well as one would hope, and I am here to help in whatever way that can look for your child and/or family needs. I strive to make sure that every child, teen, caregiver, and family unit who enters my space feel truly seen, not just for what’s hard right now but for their strengths, stories, and their full selves. I’m here to walk alongside you and your family, wherever you’re starting from, and to support growth, healing, and connection every step of the way.
